University of Uyo Admission into the 2013 Slot of the Long Vacation Sandwich Degree Programmes

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2013 Sandwich Programme of the School of Continuing Education, University of Uyo leading to the award of Bachelors degree of the University of Uyo in any of the following programmes:

(a) B. A. (Ed.) in:

• Efik/Ibibio
• English
• Fine Arts
• French
• History
• Religion
• Music

(b) B Sc. (Ed) in:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Integrated Science
• Physical Education

(c) B.Sc. (Ed) in:

• Economics
• Geography
• Political Science

(d) BSc. (Ed) in:

• Business Education (Accounting)
• Technical Education
• Home Economics Education)
• Agricultural Education

(e) B.Ed. in:

• Pre-primary & Primary Education
• Guidance and Counseling
• Health Education
• Special Education
• Social Studies

(f) B.LWS. (Ed) in

• Library & Information Science

General Requirements for Admission
Only holders of the following qualifications are eligible to apply:

• NCE with a minimum of 8 points and above in Education and the teaching
• General Nursing and Midwifery/Psychiatry Nursing with at least three (3) years post qualification experience.

Candidates with (a) or (b) above must in addition, possess additional five (5) subjects at GCE (OIL), WASC/TC II, SSC including English Language at not more than 2 sittings and any other departmental requirement.

Programmes in Sciences, Vocational Education and Library Science require a credit pass in Mathematics.

Please note that a credit pass in Chemistry is a requirement for candidates intending to offer Home Economics and Agricultural Education.

Note: Non-viable programmes that do not have up to ten (10) students admitted may not be mounted during the period and students so admitted may be required to change their programme.

Duration of the programme. Candidates will complete the programme in five years of 9 weeks each.

Method of Application
Candidates should pay a non-refundable fee of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N7, 500.00) and obtain application forms at Uniuyo Microfinance Bank at the Town Campus, Uyo. Application forms can also be obtained with Bank Draft made payable to the School of Continuing Education, University of Uyo, on presentation of genuine receipts of fee paid, at the School of Continuing Education, University of Uyo and from the University of Uyo Liaison Offices in Lagos (No. 2 Modupe Street, off Kofoworola Crescent, off Awolowo Way, Ikeja) and Abuja (No. 15b Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja)

The full name and address of the candidate must be written on the reverse side of the bank draft. All completed forms should be addressed and returned to:
