Leadership Newspapers is recruiting suitable personnel to fill the following vacancies at their Abuja Office:
1.) Reporter
He/she will be responsible for researching and reporting news stories of local, national or international interest. The ideal candidate will be required to collect and analyse information about newsworthy events, receive assignments and evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideas.

Requirements
- A candidate may be considered for the position of reporter if he/she has an HND (Lower Credit) or First Degree (Second Class, Lower) with one to two years’ experience in a reputable media organization; though fresh candidates may also apply.
- Should have good writing skills, should posses numeracy and computer skills in addition to any other requirement that may apply to reporting.
2.) Senior Reporters
He/she will be responsible for writing high- quality news and feature stories in accordance with our house style. Good organisational skills are essential for the role as is the ability to work well within a busy but vibrant team. He/she will be expected to evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideas; gather and analyse information about newsworthy events.
Requirements
- HND (Lower Credit) or First Degree (Second Class, Lower Division) in any discipline with two years’ experience in a leading national paper; should have good writing skills, possess investigative and numeracy skills; should be resourceful and have good contacts. 3.) Correspondents
He/she will be required to gather information, prepare stories and write stories that inform the public about local, state, national and international events; present points of view on current issues; and report on the actions of public officials, corporate executives, interest groups and others who exercise power.
Requirements
- HND (Lower Credit) or First Degree (Second Class, Lower Division) in any discipline with three years experience in a leading national paper.
4.) Sub-Editor
He/she will ensure that beats on his/her watch are optimally covered; ensure that stories/features/ interviews/photographs or other graphic materials on the pages used under his/her supervision are of high standard; initiate story/ feature ideas and follow-ups; maintain a high standard of ethics and discipline, co-ordinate the reporters under him/her and provide direction.

5.) Senior Correspondent
The ideal candidate will be expected to cover one or more beats; provide analysis on the goings- on on his/her beat from time to time and work across the various news platforms in the group.

- HND (Lower Credit) or First Degree (Second Class Lower Division) in any discipline. They should five years’ experience in a leading national paper.
6.) Chief Correspondent
The ideal candidate will be required to provide analysis on the goings-on on his/her beat from time to time and work across the various news platforms in the group.
Requirements
- HND (Lower Credit) or First Degree (Second Class, Lower Division) in any discipline. They should eight years experience in a leading national paper.
