MdM operating in Nigeria, Borno state since October 2016.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Nutrition Screener (Maternity Cover)
Location: Borno
Job Description
Following main activities in order to ensure the quality of care in the mobile clinics:
Identify and manage MAM &SAM cases
Implementation of health education session.
Collection computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data
Reporting and attendance to different meetings
Tasks Description
Identify and manage MAM & SAM cases:
Prepare all the necessary drugs, material and equipment for mobile clinics and ensure that everything is ready before starting the activities
Install the furniture and materials before the start of each mobile clinic
Always keep the national screener tools clean and organized
Follow the bacis medical rule of hyigeine
Calculate zero score for all the 6-59 months children
Take the weight snd height and the MUAC of all 6 -59 months children
Check presence of edemas for all the 6 -59 months children
Take the MUAC for all PLW
Point out to the medical doctor all malnourished children admitted in OTP
Perform the apetite test for all the malnourished admitted in OTP
Follow the malnourished children admitted in the program and participate in collaboration with CHWs in active search for avoiding defaulters
Implementation of health education session:
Provide nutritional health education to the malnourished children caretakers
Provide nutritional health education to the malnourished PLWCollection, computerization and analysis of weekly drugs consumption
Collect the daily mobile clinic consumption
Participate to the weekly computerization and analysis of the drugs consumption
Collection computerization and analysis of weekly epidemiological data:
Fill in proper nutrition screening form
Write on the registration form the nutritional information regarding all the children between 6 and 59 months
Perform daily data collection regarding nutritional screening
Participate to the weekly computerization and analysis of the nutritional data
Reporting and attendance to different meetings:
Prepare a weekly activity report to submit to team lead
Participate in proactive way to MDM internal meetings(medical ,security)
Participate in all training organised by MDM
Others:
Give suggestions to improve the functioning of MDM mobile clinics
Participate to the loading and unloading of the vehicles and to the setting up of the mobile clinics
Be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries are getting good quality services
Is responsible for the proper use and maintenance of assigned equipment
Perform other additional duties on request of the team leader
Inform immediately the security focal point in case of any security problem in the field
Profile Required
Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW)
Experience in similar position for at least 2 years
Good knowledge in nutrition
Capacities in team management
Strong sense of responsibilities and organization skills
Strong work ethic and rigor
Languages (spoken and written): English
Flexibility
Team player
