Job Title: Infrastructure Specialist

Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

• Serve the Division's internal customers and provide solutions to improve the customer experience.
• Working with the Network and infrastructure teams to ensure all relevant architecture information is kept up to date
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering during development, launch and continuing refinement of IT products and solutions. Be the conduit back to the field for enablement and readiness for updates and changes to the product roadmap.
• Foster good and team working relationship amongst stakeholders Ц ES, NWG, IS and Vendor partners
• Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external suppliers.
• Establish working practices with suppliers so that technical and pricing information can be obtained quickly
• To work with network and data center resources and 3rd party suppliers to establish and cost suitable solutions that meet and exceed customer need
• Stakeholder engagement in relation to actualizing business plans for the year and transforming same to executable technology solution
• Create and maintain effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers
• Develop and deploy Infrastructure services using agile practices and the implementation of processes, methodologies and techniques
• Define appropriate SLA and efficient processes for responding to customer enquiries and tender requests
• Establish appropriate controls and mechanism for all relevant information about existing infrastructure and resources as available and up to date
• Establish and maintain a central repository for all projects and proposals
• Provide a weekly report on all activities and highlight any risks and issues
• Provide consultancy support to those involved in the delivery of a new customer service
• Provide Business and System Analysis functions to both internal and external needs
• Be the subject matter expert to deliver technical assistance for field and partner engagements in managing or consulting on focus areas regarding initial implementations for emerging solutions and service offerings.
• Working with Senior Manager Infrastructure Planning and Design to manage relationship with 3rd party suppliers to ensure commitments are honored
• Direct management and engagement of resources within and across divisional functions
• Supporting the Team in gaining management approval of proposed solutions
• Facilitate knowledge transfer on emerging solutions and services offerings for Field Specialists and Partner Sales & Delivery organizations
• Preparation of proposals for customers
• Justification and motivation for new technology in a complex architecture environment
• Personal discretion when dealing with suppliers who may seek to influence the use of their technologies in solutions for customers
• Ability to negotiate aggressive, but realistic targets for delivery with internal and external resources
• Business and System Analysis in the solution process

Job Requirements

• First degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years experience in an area of specialization; with experience in supervising/managing others
• Experience working in a medium to large organization
• Experience in IT and Business and systems Analysis and related disciplines; specifically, IT infrastructure and Solution environment
• Hands on experience at Enterprise Architecture level
• Experience in planning and managing Infrastructure based projects and services inclusive of demonstrated experience in Security solutions and technologies at or before deployment
• Strong experience working in a complex Infrastructure environment
• Strong experience in infrastructure architecture, data centers, servers, Database, Backup, Storage, SAN Switch and networks
• Experience with emerging technology, such as cloud computing, desktop virtualization, Hadoop, Mongo DB and Unified communications.
