Head, Technical Underwriting at CHI Microinsurance Limited

CHI Microinsurance Limited is a new Micro Life Assurance company, a subsidiary of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Technical Underwriting

Location: Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain current and accurate documentation of all business underwritten.
• Allocate policy numbers to new business and distribute proposal form to clients.
• Receive renewal instruction/advice on existing policies from clients/brokers to effect renewal of policies.
• Prepare policy document for all businesses.
• Issue renewal certificate.
• Collate, sort and separate about-to-lapse files from those still in force to determine those needing renewal notice.
• Verify the currency and accuracy of information in underwriting files requiring renewal notice.
• Generate renewal notice through the computer and dispatch to clients.
• Compute additional/return premium due for alteration.
• Receive discharge voucher from claims unit and effect necessary alteration on policy.
• Update all transactions on the computer.
• Write reminder letter for policies not renewed after about a month.
• Supervise activities of team members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Ensure that the teams within the unit have adequate allocation of human and physical resources to enable them meet defined objectives.
• Recommends for settlement/ repudiation of claims and advice as appropriate.
• Provide advice to the Underwriting Units on policy wordings, terms and conditions.
• Prepare and present the unit’s budget to the MD, CHI Micro for approval.
• Ensure that subordinates are given on-the-job and outside training to equip them to perform efficiently and effectively.
• Submit periodic reports on the unit’s operations to MD, CHI Micro and recommend corrective actions where there are deviations from plan.

Requirements

• Qualification: BSc/HND, ACII/AIIN
• Experience: 3-5 Years in Life Underwriting
• Age: 25 – 40years
