About the Project

• This framework of Al-Ansar Foundation coincides with the multifaceted development strategy of Borno State Government under the current leadership of His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mnl to propagate peace, educate and Inform citizens in order to advance the social, cultural and economic affairs of the State and the nation at large.
• Sequel to the Borno State Government Invitation to individuals, corporate organizations, NGOs as well as other interested parties to partake in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of post-insurgency Borno, the Al-Ansar Foundation, In response to the above clarion call, decided to establish Al-Ansar Radio and TV / Station with the sole aim of creating a peaceful environment and sustainable development through the use of its platform.

Position Description

• The Producer is primarily responsible for creating radio shows.
• She / He will be responsible for generating Ideas, research, and develop content, and also contact potential contributors and interviewees.
• The Producer will be in charge of designing schedules, handling recordings and editing, and also managing budgets.
• The job role also involves various other duties like maintaining the show time and format arranging the guests as screening and briefing callers.

The producer is expected to:

• Generate and research ideas for programs and pitching for commission.
• Develop content, write material for scripts, bulletins, and links.
• Sourcing potential contributors and interviewees.
• Select music or nasheed appropriate for the program, the audience, and the station.
• Produce pre-production briefings for presenters, reporters, technical staff, and other contributors.
• Manage the logistics of getting people, resources, and equipment together at the right place at the right time.
• Undertake editing, Interviewing and reporting duties as necessary
• Present programs or manage presenters for both pre-recorded and recorded output.
• Check that copyrights are cleared and have an understanding of media law.
• Convert text, graphics, video, and audio files into other formats.
• Contribute to, and make use of, an archive of audio resources which can be re-used.
• Respond to audience feedback, and refer on to other departments as necessary.
• Produce and make-use of user-generated content.
• Use technology, such as Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools, and Adobe Audition, for editing and production purposes.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mass Communication, Journalism, and in any Media Production related field.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience as a radio/ tv producer
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to come up with original ideas for interviews or features and
• Ability to pitch ideas to senior management and work as part of a team to achieve results.
• Portfolio of previous works and content originality.
• An awareness of current affairs and good general knowledge
• Have IT technical skills to be able, operate various recording and studio equipment.
