Job Title: Technical Lead

What We are Looking for

• We are looking for a highly skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming and can effectively lead our technical team to achieve our product development objectives.
• As the tech lead, you will be responsible for providing development updates to stakeholders and management, managing task assignments to members of the tech-team, developing and designing front end web architecture, ensuring the responsiveness of applications, and working alongside UI/UX designers for web design features, among other duties.
• You will also be required to see a project from conception to final product, which requires good organizational, project management skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the architecture, design, code quality, system stability and reliency of websites and webapps being developed. front end website architecture.
• Meeting with stakeholders and the design team to develop and design user interactions on web pages.
• Understanding the broader context of the team/ projects and help set the technical roadmap of the team.
• Developing back-end website applications and creating servers and databases for functionality when there’s need.
• Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile apps developed by the mobile app developer.
• Working alongside UI/UX designers for web design features.
• Seeing through a project from conception to finished product and ensuring responsiveness of all developed applications.
• Designing and developing APIs.
• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
• Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team.
• Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals of the team.
• Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standards agreed with the client.
• Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible for all projects.
• Analyzing existing operations, partnering with managers around prioritizations, sprint planning, work divisions and scheduling training sessions and meetings to discuss improvements.
• Updating work schedules and performing troubleshooting as required.
• Motivating staff and creating a space where they can ask questions and voice their concerns.
• Being transparent with the team about challenges, failures, and successes.
• Writing progress reports and delivering presentations to the relevant stakeholders and management.
• Technical Lead should be flexible enough and be adaptable to the changing and varied work settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant Management certification is an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients.
• Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Growth mindset and a demonstrated emotional intelligence to collaborate and mentor developers/ managers.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, Next.js and Amber.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python (Django), Javascript (Node.js), PHP (Laravel), and .Net.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
