Working in the employment of BAOBAB Microfinance Bank Limited, the employee will hold the Resident Branch Controller position with a direct reporting line to the Operations Risk Manager.
He shall be responsible for conceptual ownership of all management processes in operations within the branch(s) of the bank.
He shall also ensure adequate compliance to information technology industry standards by the bank.
He will identify potential risks inherent in the established procedures within these areas of his responsibility and Identify appropriate mitigating control measures against such risks.
Where necessary control measures are not in place, the employee shall also be responsible for designing appropriate controls for management approval and subsequent implementations.
In this capacity, the incumbent will be a key support to the management and serves as the eye of the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring all employees of the branch comply with laid down rules and procedures in the performance of their assigned roles. In essence, his duties shall focus on ensuring the branch's assets are safeguarded and ensuring the integrity of the branch records.
Responsibilities
Ensure adequate vault administration control
Ensure adequate control in the handling of late deposits and subject to count deposits
Provide control on cash and teller operations
Cash shipment control
Control on POS, ATM operations etc.
Customer verification & field inspection
Cheque clearing and fund transfer control
Branch / department expenses control
Ensure proofing on prepayment
Customer service control – Account opening, Reactivation, closing, and client enquiries
Risk assets creation and management control, including fund utilization spot check.
Money laundering and KYC
Environment and premises security
Branch fixed assets
Mail administration in the branch
Store / stock- branch stationeries and filling
Branch / department personnel - Attendance register, Leave utilisation and compliance, Staff Engagement, Discipline, etc
Branch transaction call over and credit files review
Archiving and I.T. at the branch
Cooperate with Central Archive Officer in-store management and archives items movement
As may be directed by the CRO or Operations Risk Manager.
Internal control or audit practice experience is an advantage
