Job Title: National Sales Manager

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets.
  • Build a high-performing sales team by providing strong mentorship, coaching, and guidance.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key accounts and distributors.
  • Identifying and acquiring new customers, as well as up-selling to the existing customer base.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the sales department.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports and forecasts.
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency.
  • Analyzing market trends and competitors’ activities and formulating strategies to respond to these.
  • Monitor and ensure an increase in the company’s sales across modern trade channels and open markets
  • Managing large key distributor accounts at a National level.
  • Developing and accessing the national marketing strategy to increase customer acquisition and retention.
  • Evaluating information related to Sales, promotions, competition, and market research.
  • Increasing sales and distribution of new and existing company products.
  • Any other function as may be assigned by the Management to achieve the company’s goals.
  • The preferred candidate must have in-depth knowledge of managing a high-performance sales team with outstanding communication, presentation, leadership, and management skills. He must possess good analytical skills and be an excellent problem solver. He must have previous experience in the FMCG industry with at least 10 years of sales experience. The ability to drive with a valid Driver’s License is compulsory.

Key Requirements

  • You have a Diploma / Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
  • B.Sc in Sales, Business Administration, or a similar relevant field.
  • Previous working experience as a National Sales Manager for (10) years (s)
  • You have a strong track record of success with prior experience in a similar role.
  • You are a hands-on leader who is a strong coach & mentor and has a strong track record of building & leading high-performing sales teams.
  • You possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • You possess good analytical skills and are an excellent problem solver.
  • You are a strong team player who can build good relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of managing a high-performance sales team
  • Applicable experience in sales performance metrics
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Customer-oriented with strong negotiation skills
  • Analytical and data-driven problem solver
