Job Title: Interior Designer
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Undertaking design project from concept to completion
Defining project requirements and schedule during the “brief”
Interpreting and translating customer needs into rough plans
Visiting job sites to analyze space availability, design needs, and the purpose of the space.
Attending client meetings to understand the design needs and client preferences regarding interior styles and colors.
Creating initial design sketches, color themes, and ideas based on client requirements and space availability.
Research and decide on materials and product sourcing.
Create 'mood boards' to sample design vision. Produce “sample” and “mood products.”
Supervise work progress.
Work closely with designers, decorators, architects, and constructors
Hiring or following up with contractors and vendors to implement design ideas, such as Carpenters, Painters, Plumbers, Electricians, and Artists
Overseeing the buying process of all raw materials and items required to complete the project.
Arranging client visits and keeping everyone involved in the project appraised of its progress.
Ensuring project completion within the allocated budget and timeline
Inspect design after completion to determine whether client goals have been met.
Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, and best practices.
Requirements
Education
A Post-graduate / Master’s Degree in Interior Design or related field.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience:
6 - 7 years of relevant working experience
Project management experience.
Familiarity with Interior Design business principles
Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions)
Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture, and all installations.
